Aaron was born October 17, 1970 in Reno to Jim and JoAnn Amoldsen. As a third generation Nevadan, Aaron was an avid outdoorsman and was always active in team sports. Aaron graduated from Reno High School in 1989 and was attending the University of Nevada, Reno planning on becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Aaron was a member and an officer of the Sigma Nu fraternity.

A great friend and family member, Aaron was always there when needed. Aaron was tragically killed in an accident while returning from a University of Nevada, Reno basketball game on January 30,1993. His friends founded this tournament to honor Aaron for all he did and to continue with his giving ways.
